الخميس ١٢ ديسمبر/ كانون الثاني، من ٦ مساءً إلى ٨ مساءً
من الذي يسرد القصص؟ وهل نتبع خطاً منتظمًا ومُوَجّهاً عندما نحكي حكاية؟ ما الذي يتم تكراره؟ وما الذي ننساه؟ وكيف يمكن للأشياء أن تستدعي الذكريات وتوّجه الروايات المختلفة؟
كان يا ما كان هي ورشة عمل من ثلاثة أجزاء باللغة العربية تستكشف العلاقات ما بين السرد والإصغاء والمقتنيات. كجزء من مشروع غاليري “ليونارد وبينا آلن للفن” التواصلي “ممتلكات”، تهدف هذه السلسة إلى خلق فضاءات إضافية في أنحاء المدينة حيث يمكن لساكنيها الناطقين بالعربية المشاركة والإصغاء بشكل جماعي.
باستضافة إيما حركة، تسلّط كل ورشة عمل الضوء على ضيف أو ضيفة يجلبن معهن طريقتهن الخاصة بالسرد والاستماع، قبل دعوة المشاركين/ات إلى سرد قصصهم/ن الخاصة بناءً على تجاربهم/ن مع أغراض مألوفة. احضروا/ن معكم/ن غرضاً أو أكثر من المنزل أو العمل أو في الطريق إلى ورشة العمل. سوف نقوم سَوِيّةً بتطوير وتجريب أساليب إبداعية لرواية القصص المشتركة. من خلال استعادة أدوار الأشياء في تواريخنا وقصصنا الشخصية، سنستكشف كيف تقوم هذه الممتلكات بتشكيل واحتواء ذكرياتنا ومخيّلتنا.
بياتريس مخيبر هي أول ضيفة في هذه السلسلة.
في الأصل من لبنان، بياتريس مخيبر هي فنانة متعددة الوسائط تعيش في مونتريال منذ عام ٢٠١٢. استهلت مخيبر مسيرتها المهنية في مجال السينما والتلفزيون وصناعة الأزياء كعارضة أزياء طفلة، ومن ثم بدأت بالعمل مع العديد من وكالات البث والتلفزيون في الشرق الأوسط. تقوم مخيبر بالتمثيل، والإخراج، والتنسيق، وبإنتاج مشاريع وبرامج متنوعة، بالإضافة إلى عملها على أفلامها الخاصة ومشاريعها الفنية. حصلت على درجة البكالوريوس في فنون الاتصال والإذاعة والتلفزيون والسينما من جامعة نوتردام في
بيروت.

Workshop series

Who gets to tell a story? When telling stories, do we follow a linear, orderly and controlled line? What is repeated? What is forgotten? How might objects help summon memories and guide different narratives?
Once There Was, Once There Wasn’t is a three-part workshop series in Arabic exploring the relationships between telling, listening and belongings. As part of the Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery’s outreach project Mumtalakat, the series aims to create more spaces around the city for Arabic-speaking Montrealers to share and listen collectively.
Hosted by Emma Haraké, each session features a guest introducing their own way of
telling and listening before participants are invited to narrate their own stories based on
their experiences with seemingly ordinary objects. Bring an object or objects from home, work, or on your way to the workshop. Together we will co-develop and put into practice creative methods in shared storytelling. By reclaiming objects’ roles in our histories and stories, we will explore how they both shape and carry our memories and imagination.
Our first workshop will be co-hosted by Béatrice Moukhaiber.
Originally from Lebanon, Béatrice Moukhaiber is a multidisciplinary artist who has been based in Montreal since 2012. Introduced to the film, television, and fashion industries as a child model, Moukhaiber has worked with broadcasting agencies and television productions in the Middle East. She acts, directs, coordinates, and produces a diverse range of projects in parallel to her own filmmaking and artistic practice. She holds a degree from Notre Dame University, Beirut in communication arts, radio, television and film.
