Join Kite for a guided tour of her installation ( x ) x + [ ( x ) x { x } x x ] { x } + in the SIGHTINGS cube.
As a life-size performance score, ( x ) x + [ ( x ) x { x } x x ] { x } + exposes a strictly woven set of narratives about Lakota cosmology that is organized around sculptures, performance text, sound, and video works. Kite will lead a guided tour of the installation in the SIGHTINGS cube, tracing the multitude of paths, timelines, layers, and stories that traverse it. Maps will be provided.

Performance

The installation ( x ) x + [ ( x ) x { x } x x ] { x } + will be performed by Kite as a score, simulating a distorted vision of an Oglala Lakota cosmologyscape. As they unfold out from the cube, the objects and sculptures on display will interfere with and manipulate the performance’s adjoining sound composition, in tandem with the artist’s body-interface.
