OSCILLATIONS OF THE VISIBLE: OLIVIA BOUDREAU

Since 2004, Québec artist Olivia Boudreau has developed a body of work in performance-based video that explores notions of the visible through duration and repetition. Working with the long take, a tight frame and an economy of movement, and more recently narrative interaction, her installations and live performances provide a riveting temporal and perceptual experience for the public. This first fully illustrated book on her work includes in-depth essays addressing questions of temporality, materiality and reception in her practice by art historians Christine Ross and Eduardo Ralickas and also an extensive interview with the artist by curator Michèle Thériault.
