As part of SIGHTINGS 47, join artists Alexia Laferté Coutu and François Lemieux for a conversation with curator Julia Eilers Smith. Together, they will retrace the series of encounters and gestures that led to the integration of the works into the cube: from the initial invitation to the installation of Laferté Coutu’s sculptures, through the process of taking impressions on site, casting in the studio, and transferring forms from paper to glass. Moving between materiality and the memory of the site, the conversation will extend to the audience, opening the idea that both the building and the artworks record in their own way histories, passages, and gestures.
